Description: In 2023, UNHCR estimates that global resettlement needs will significantly increase to 2,003,982 persons, as compared to 2022 when 1,473,156 were estimated to be in need of resettlement. This increase is reflected in all regions, with the largest increase noted in the Asia and MENA regions. For 2023, Africa (with three regions) again has the highest projected resettlement needs, at nearly 662,012, followed by the MENA region (463,930) and Europe (417,200).
